Costa Rica is world famous for its 25 national parks and 11 large protected areas in the rainforest.
Who, however, wants to visit the many national parks or even just a few of them is not on the right trip with us! Why? The explanation is easy! Who wants to look for the animals in the national parks, has little to no idea of Costa Rican wildlife and the associated restrictions or provided good opportunities! In the national parks you will find mainly tourists in huge quantities, and something very important: the national parks of Costa Rica open in the morning until eight o'clock, very few only at seven o'clock, and some are even closed one day a week! The animals do not know where the park boundaries are but our guides do! We also want to do some night watching tours to look out for frogs, lizards and snakes!
We guarantee the very best photo opportunities and many, many animals, and all this with one of the best and most experienced local guide! He is not only a brilliant guide, but also a fantastic photographer! So we can benefit from it in all respects!
An incredible abundance of animals can be admired without the crowds of tourists.
We do not want to take just a few snap shots on the trip. We want to take time for the numerous and various animals. So we will take our time, a lot of time for photographing.
The tropical character of the country surprises with its diversity, richness and size.
During those two weeks, you can enjoy a very excellent tour guide who can give best information about animals, plants and the habits and customs of the country.
The accommodation is carefully chosen and is very ideal for our excursions. You will be amazed by the lodges!
Full board is offered on this trip. The food is excellent and versatile! Good meat and lots of vegetables plus delicious fruits!

Small excursions, really just short hikes or walks in easy terrain will allow you to see the natural wonders of the tropical rainforest: look, marvel, take pictures, admire, enjoy.
You will cope easily on this trip and no special condition is needed:
Whoever thinks he is melting away from the heat and moisture in those called humid tropics is partly wrong!
This photo trip has only one Lodge which is really in a warm and humid area. We will stay there the first few nights. But great photo opportunities will make this worth it! Guaranteed! All other lodges are then located slightly higher in altitude and therefore the climate is already very pleasant and not so humid anymore.
We show you the most interesting places of the tropical rain and cloud forest in Costa Rica.
Our guide is also a professional photographer and successfully working for discerning tourists for two decades now. You will be extremely impressed by the diversity and what we will see and photograph! Especially with the guidance of real animal photographic professionals!
Dionys Moser has traveled Costa Rica and picked some very interesting areas for you.
We will photograph the small animals and will hold a macro workshops! Amazing pictures are guaranteed!
For who is this nature photo travel really?
Generally for animal interested people and ambitious photographers: We are looking for amphibians (poison dart frogs, glass frogs, and others), colorful birds, snakes, lizards, monkeys, mammals, insects and plants.
Sure, if birds are in the area a lens with 400mm or longer focal length is an advantage.
Very important are also a macro lens and a telephoto lens for the area around 200 to 400mm! A camera with good ISO values and a solid tripod is also very important!
What can you expect on this photo trip?
We will see various mammals, monkeys, small mammals, sloths, many, many colorful birds like toucans, hummingbirds, and probably also the Quetzal (9 Quetzals on the tour in 2016!)
Also a lot of different frogs like poison dart frogs, roaches frog, lizards such as the large land iguanas, basilisk, certainly various snakes and great opportunities for insect macros.
Just carry enough image memory with you, preferably a hyperdrive /pictures tank!
On the journey we continue to make macro-workshops. We'll show you how to use your flash correctly and show you the use of soft boxes.

A quarter of the entire area is under protection.

Get to know one of the most beautiful corners of the country : rain forests, cloud forests, volcanoes, waterfalls, etc. Costa Rica is not only known for its wealth of flora and fauna, but also as a traditionally peaceful country. The "Ticos" as the Costa Ricans call themselves, are proud to share the beauty of their country with you.
Air and travel times
You can travel to Costa Rica throughout the year. The temperatures are high throughout the year in between 20 and 25 degrees. In the rain forest and on the coasts you will find temperatures around 25 to 30 degrees. In the rain forest one can experience tropical storms throughout the year.
Our photographic journey is like all our other trips, we travel during the climatically best time.
In Costa Rica Spanish is mainly spoken in hotels and in tourist areas as well as English.
The time difference to us is minus 7 or 8 hours.
